Fannie Villasenor's artistic background began as a talented, gifted visual artist since childhood. At the age of 12, Fannie won first place in the Chicago Public School system's student art competition.

Fascination with Hair for Fannie began as a child – cutting her Barbie Dolls' hair creating shorter and shorter hair styles until there was no longer hair left to style. Fannie's passion since as long as she can remember has been hair and art.

Fannie became a certified, licensed cosmetologist in the State of Illinois in 1997. Her life long passion, sense of artistry and style has been the impetus for her success and career as a Stylist, Colorist, Corrective Color Professional, Educator and Bridal Specialist. Fannie routinely attends as well as leads professionally sponsored courses in corrective color and is certified as a Color Specialist and a Corrective Color Professional by Koleston Perfect ® division of Wella Professional, and Keune.

Fannie's early career, includes training at Art Tech in Manhattan, NYC, (now Loreal owned). Her early years also included working as a top hair designer on Oak Street in Chicago, the equivalent of 5th Avenue or Madison Avenue in NYC, and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Before opening her own salon in 2004 she spent years working along side the hairdresser for the Chicago Lyric Opera.

For over a decade now, Fannie has created hair and makeup on set for models and celebrities appearing in Chicago Magazine advertisements and Today's Chicago Woman magazine. She has styled models for numerous productions including beauty pageants in Chicago and also at the National Championship levels. Starting in1999, and currently, Fannie has been hired to appear on stage as a stylist performer and instructor for hair color and hair styling/cutting for the hair industry all over the world, including Hawaii, Mexico City, Toronto, NYC, Long Beach California, Las Vegas, Chicago.

In 2009, Fannie was interviewed and aired on UNIVISION television. She was asked to provide beauty and hair tips to UNIVISION'S viewership as an expert hair stylist for what was in style for the forthcoming 2009 Spring season.

Fannie in her salon was selected to perform in an episode of the network Television show ""BRIDEZILLA". This bride was done up and filmed at Fannie's Colorrific Coiffure Salon in Lincoln Park, Chicago and her bride appeared on television and won 1st Place. Fannie and her salon was the official hairdresser and salon to the "2011 and 2012 Latino Fashion Week", a week-long high design international annual fashion event in Chicago televised internationally.

By invitation, on behalf of her Salon, Colorrific Coiffure, Fannie has entered her salon in Hair Wars, a Chicago, city and suburban-wide Hair Salon competition almost each year since 2005. She won 1st place, second place and third place awards, multiple times. In 2009, as Chicago's representative, Fannie participated in Hair Wars National Salon competition in Las Vegas, involving stylists and salons from ten US cities, and represented Chicago in December 2012 in the National Hair Wars competition in Las Vegas.

Fannie continues her commitment to her career and passion by being a strong advocate for continuing education. She personally believes and invests to stay current with up to date styles and trends, and includes travel to other cities, including NYC, to learn new techniques from the best instructors and hair industry companies so that she can offer the best and newest styles and techniques in color and cuts for her own benefit and her client's benefit.

Some of Fannie's present clients include Cable TV's ten year old, Sally who plays as John Hamm's daughter in the television series "MAD MEN". Fannie has done Kiernan Shipka's hair since Kiernan was 4 years old. Fannie has also been hair stylist to actress, Jacqueline Fleming. Fannie is the hairdresser to hairdressers, and is known to have an expert color eye and is an expert colorist. She has been asked to do impossible tasks that virtually no one in Chicago could and has created 110% satisfied clients.

Fannie happily donates her time and talents to cancer patients. She sponsors children in need and is a wonderfully philanthropic human being who's famous words are always…"Thank you God". Fannie's loves are: Art, Hair, her puppy, Toby, her kitty, Inky, All of Fannie's Chicago clients love her not only for her talent, but for her wonderful, positive, generous, loving personality, and her wonderful, grounded, down to earth advice and ear as we know all hairdressers are specialists in psychology too!
